Key Control Projects of China-Kyrgyzstan-Uzbekistan Railway Begin Construction

On April 29, the construction of three key control tunnels, namely the Fergana Mountain, Naryn No. 1 and Koshtube tunnels, in the Kyrgyzstan section of the China-Kyrgyzstan-Uzbekistan Railway officially began, marking the start of substantial construction work on the main line of the project.
The China-Kyrgyzstan-Uzbekistan Railway is a landmark project of the Belt and Road Initiative (BRI), personally promoted by the heads of state of China, Kyrgyzstan and Uzbekistan. The railway starts in Kashgar, Xinjiang, China, passes through the Turgart Pass into Kyrgyzstan, continues westward through the Kyrgyz border city of Jalalabad, and ends in the eastern Uzbek city of Andijan.
