Nanning, February 18 (Reported by Pang Geping and Luo Wenhong) - At 8:56 a.m. on the 16th, Train D3784, a high-speed train carrying 611 returning workers to Guangdong, departed from Long’andong Railway Station and headed for Guangzhounan Railway Station. This marks the first dedicated high-speed train for returning workers to Guangdong launched in Guangxi this year, injecting continuous momentum into the county’s economic development.
Long’an County is located on the southwest side of Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region, along the banks of the downstream of the Youjiang River. Every year, more than 70,000 people from Long’an go to work in Guangdong. In recent years, the Long’an County government has cooperated with the railway authority to organize residents to work in Guangdong during the critical period when the Spring Festival holiday ends, leveraging the convenience of high-speed railways. This initiative helps residents acquire new skills and increase their income. “This is the first time Long’an has operated a dedicated train for workers. We have also arranged for Guangzhou to provide shuttle buses to transport workers back to work,” said Wei Jiezhong, deputy director of the Long’an County Human Resources and Social Security Bureau.
To ensure the smooth travel of workers, CR-Nanning planned ahead and actively communicated with relevant units such as the Long’an County Human Resources and Social Security Bureau to understand the number of workers, their return time, and other information. They assisted in ticketing and dynamically optimized and adjusted capacity to meet the travel needs of workers as much as possible.
In response to the situation where 611 workers gathered at the station in a short period, Long’andong Railway Station opened a green channel for entry, pre-checked tickets in advance, and prioritized the organization of workers to enter the station. At the same time, they designated a dedicated waiting area and guided workers to wait according to the carriage number. “The station provides on-site guidance, question answering, and key assistance to workers by holding up guiding signs,” explained Xiao Gang, stationmaster of Long’andong Railway Station.
