This marks the first migrant worker return-to-work special train departing from Sichuan this year and also the 26th consecutive year that the railway authority has operated “labor special trains” in the Qinling Mountains and Daba Mountains.
Dazhou City, as a gathering place for migrant workers, has organized “labor special trains” every year after the Spring Festival since 1999. Up to now, over 1,600 special trains have been operated, providing travel services for over 2.25 million people. These “labor special trains” have become a well-known means of transportation for locals to seek prosperity. It is estimated that 300,000 migrant workers will take trains out of the Qinling Mountains and Daba Mountains areas this year.
