To solve the problem of passenger transport difficulty in poverty-stricken areas, China Railway Lanzhou Group Co., Ltd. (CR Lanzhou) considers the fact of no railway access to the extremely poor areas within its scope, pays the same attention to both social benefit and economic benefit and works with Lanzhou Railway International Tourist Agency, the railway stations of Lanzhou, Tianshui, Yinchuan and the station depots of Wunan, Longxi and Guyuan to conduct investigation and analysis of the 34 counties and districts plus key villages with no railway access. Following the principle of building trackless stations and the market demand of passenger transport, through comprehensive selection and comparison and scientific siting, they initially decided to build trackless stations in 2 regions, 5 countries and 1 village. Till now, CR Lanzhou has completed the construction of eight trackless stations in the cities of Hezuo and Linxia, the counties of Chengxian, Kangxian, Minqin, Pengyang and Jingning, and the town of Minning. A new transport layout with seamless integration between the railway with local governments, enterprises and the highway for smooth passenger transfer has taken shape.
